“This is the last song on the album, which chronicles these relationships that were sweet in the beginning and bitter in the end. When someone criticizes you all the time, if you’re a people pleaser like me, you change little things about yourself to make it work. But if you change too many things, you lose who you are. So it’s a love song, but it’s more about getting back your self confidence. The first inspiration came when I was on tour in Europe (in early 2011). I’d been alone for awhile and had time to think about my past experiences. But I wrote it in pieces- I’d start and then second-guess myself. I had to sort through my own insecurities. It’s a nice way to end the record because it breaks the cycle. It’s saying, I’m drawn to the sunlight instead of just the rain.”
